CHMS Beta Club: Home
Welcome Back, Betas!
We are very excited about the many opportunities and possibilities that CHMS Beta Club will take part in this 2019-2020 school year. As summer winds down and the new school year commences, please keep an eye on our website for updated information and news. Further, all current Beta members should listen to each day's morning announcements, as we will use the morning announcements to state when our first meeting of the school year will be. For now, please keep in mind the following:
Meetings - These will commence as soon as possible this Fall. Expect the first meeting to take place on a Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30 PM either the first or second full week of school. Meetings are a required component for all Beta students.
Grades - Keep in mind that you must maintain an A average (93 or better) in all of your classes to remain in good standing as a CHMS Beta. Start the school year off right!
Community Service Hours - As of July 2018, community service requirements for each Beta remain at 10 hours a semester (20 hours total). This may be subject to change this upcoming school year. We will announce any changes to the hour requirements well in advance of any deadlines. The community service hours form can be found under the Forms section of this website. The Beta Sponsors realize that many students may have completed community service hours over the summer, and those can count towards this school year's required service. Please keep in mind that all hours must be true service--you cannot have received any payment for the service. In addition, the hours must be signed off on by the adult who supervised the service hours. Community Service Hours Forms can be submitted to the clear basket outside Mrs. Harvey's room (807).
State Convention - The National Beta Club Tennessee State Convention will take place at Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN on November 23-25, 2019. We will hold interest meetings fairly early this fall semester to ensure that students have plenty of time to prep in the different competition categories, both individual and group. The theme for this year's Convention is: . For more information, please look at our Convention subpage.
