Christiana Middle School principal Dr. Kyle Nix was recently elected to the National Association of Secondary School Principals’ Board of Directors.

With more than 16,000 members nationwide, NASSP supports principals and is responsible for student leadership programs such as the National Honor Society and National Association of Student Councils.

“It is an honor and privilege to serve on the board and work alongside school and student leaders from across the nation to achieve excellence in education. I look forward to carrying out the work of NASSP in providing crucial support for school leaders and fostering the growth of student voice in our communities,” Nix said.

Nix became principal of Christiana Middle in 2020 and under her leadership, the school became the first Rutherford County Schools middle school to earn STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) designation from the Tennessee Department of Education and the state STEM Innovation Network.

As principal, Nix is known for providing clear guidelines that ensure instructional quality and support for her team and consistently advocates for initiatives that benefit the school community.
