About the Teacher

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I want to take a moment to introduce myself and welcome you and your child to 6th Grade English/Language Arts (ELA) at Christiana Middle School.

My name is Dr. Stefanie Landis, and I will be your child's ELA teacher for the upcoming school year. I am truly excited to have the opportunity to work with your child and help them grow both academically and personally.

I have been in education for 14 years. Besides being in administration and serving as a literacy coordinator, I always taught English/Language Arts. I hold the following degrees: B.A. English Literature, B.A. Spanish, M.A. Elementary Education, and Ed.D. Leadership and Management. I am a life-long learner. Teaching is my passion, and my heart is in the classroom with students. I live in Christiana and have two daughters in Rutherford County Schools. My oldest is a senior at Rockvale High School, and my youngest is in 1st grade at Christiana Elementary. I come from a family of educators. My father-in-law is a retired principal, and my mother-in-law is a retired teacher. My husband, Conrad, is an administrator at the Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy. I am thrilled to be at Christiana Middle. I am always here for you and your students, so please feel free to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns. My email address is [email protected].

I will email a weekly newsletter home through Skyward. It gives you an overview of skills we are learning, the Word Wall words for the quarter (vocabulary words), and any important dates.  Please ensure your email address in Skyward is correct.

The transition to middle school can be a significant milestone in a student's life, and I understand that joining a new grade can bring about mixed emotions. Rest assured, our school community strives to create a supportive and nurturing environment where your child can thrive. I am committed to providing a safe classroom where every student feels valued and empowered to express themselves.

Throughout the year, we will be exploring various literary works, engaging in interactive discussions, and sharpening our reading and writing skills. It is my goal to foster a love for reading and encourage your child to become a confident communicator.

In addition to the academic curriculum, I also value the importance of open communication between home and school. I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or insights you may have about your child's progress or well-being. Together, we can ensure a successful educational experience for your child.

Thank you, once again, for entrusting me with your child's education. I am honored to be a part of their academic journey and look forward to a rewarding year filled with growth and achievement.
