3-Strike Policy

Student athletes will be held to a high standard of accountability to be able to participate on the CHMS Track & Field Team. Please refer to the team handbook given on the first day of practice for more information about the 3-Strike Policy.

Transportation

Athletes and parents are responsible for timely transportation after practice and track meets. Students must be picked up no later than 20 minutes after practice has ended each day of practice. Athletes who are picked up more than 20 minutes late will be given a strike after the first grace day. Please make sure that rides to and from practice and meets are scheduled ahead of time.

Absences

Athletes must notify the head coach beforehand if they are going to miss a practice. This should be done through email. Practice is MANDATORY. Unexcused absences will result in a strike. All absences that are mentioned ahead of time will be excused.

Academic Requirements

Student athletes must maintain a C average throughout the season. One D will result in suspension of meet participation until the grade becomes a C. One F will result in a suspension from practices and meet participation until the grade becomes a C. Athletes receiving an F must still attend all practices and will complete missing assignments, extra credit, and/or other assignments to improve their grade.

Behavior Issues/Discipline Logs

All athletes on the team are representatives of not only the Track & Field Team but also of CHMS. There is a high standard of behavior that the athletes must follow. Any discipline log write ups filled out by a teacher in school or behavior issues outside of school will result in a strike or removal from team dependent on the severity of the behavior.

A team due of $50.00 will be required once the final team is announced. This money will count as our team's donation / fundraiser for the year. It will help pay for meet fees and other supplies needed for the season. This money is non-refundable. Cash or Check is accepted.

Team Sweats

A team store has been set up for you to order your athletes team sweats and shorts that are REQUIRED to be purchased in order to participate. Additional items may also be purchased for family and friends.

If athlete fails to do so, a fee of $40 will be charged for any missing uniforms. Shorts and running tights/tops will be purchased separately and will be kept by the athlete.
